As a media executive, producer and director, Alexis Fish has spent over 15 years at the forefront of LGBTQ media. In 2019 she joined Valence Media (Billboard, The Hollywood Reporter, MRC Film & TV, Dick Clark Production) as a Vice President focusing on creating LGBTQ verticals across all brands.
Beginning with Billboard Pride, she led the team in launching the first Billboard & The Hollywood Reporter Pride Summit. A critical and commercial success, the event introduced the brands to an entirely new creative, consumer, industry and sales audience.
As part of the executive leadership at the company, she works with each division developing, advising and overseeing projects focused in the LGBTQ space. One of her greatest joys is finding and introducing emerging LGBTQ talent and stories to their respective development and division heads at Valence’s TV, film, documentary and media verticals. She also works closely with HR both to introduce and now ensure best practices for creating a safe and supportive work environment across Valence Media
In her first year as editor of Billboard Pride, it was nominated for a GLAAD Award in “Outstanding Overall Magazine and Coverage.”
In 2020 she launched Billboard Pride’s first podcast hosted by activist, artist and song-writer Shea Diamond with guests including Billy Porter, Hayley Kiyoko, CHIKA, Madam Gandhi and more.
Alexis is currently developing and programming the second Billboard & The Hollywood Reporter Pride Summit and Prom June 13th, 2020. Bringing the event to a global online audience. The combined programming will bring together the largest gathering of LGBTQ artists ever assembled for a virtual event. The summit and prom will also coincide with the Hollywood Reporter’s first annual Pride issue and Pride list as well as the third Billboard Pride Issue. Alexis works closely across print and online to ensure the most responsible and inclusive coverage of artists, business executives and industry news in the Pride space.
Prior to working with Valence, Alexis was selected by Anna Wintour’s editor to help Conde Nast their LGBTQ online vertical, them. As a founding editor and Head of Video for them, she directed and produced the brands first online video content. How to Raise Trans Child, produced and directed by Alexis virtually over Facetime, has been viewed and shared extensively with millions of views on social media.
Her producing credits range from John Cameron Mitchell’s critically acclaimed success Shortbus, to an HBO documentary, Pretty Things with Albert Maysles behind the camera.
